Diego Pérez is highly experienced at teaching different subjects. He taught Visual Analysis and Art History at The Conservatory of Fine Arts and Javeriana University in Cali, Colombia. In 2006, he started his career teaching art, drawing and photography to children at the Gulliver, Carrolton and Epiphany Catholic School's in Miami.
Upon his arrival to New York in 2009, he began working as a Spanish-art teacher at Spanish All Year in Westbury, NY, where he created many art projects and activities to teach Spanish, inspired by the Hispanic world. Using this experience, he became the lead instructor for the Global Language Project where he created visual aids and designed teaching materials for Mandarin, Arabic and Spanish languages to children in under-priviledged areas of New York.
Mr. Pérez's goal is to engage students in the learning of a language and culture as well as using different interesting and creative activities without losing academic rigor. He uses this philosophy to teach Spanish at The British International School of New York (Nursery to Year 9) and Spanish for gifted children at The Speyer Legacy School in Manhattan (Kindergarten to Grade 3)
Mr. Pérez has a degree in Social Communications from Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia. He is currently working towards an MA in Education and Curriculum Management.
